Ok folks, Margaret or Blount?

So. I mentioned earlier in this blog the possibility of going by Margaret again in California. It has come to my attention, that some people feel that this decision isn't the best idea. So, I'll put it up to you.

So, Margaret Montgomery or Blount Montgomery?

I see the benefits of both, so I would appreciate feedback.

  1. The first thing you ever said to me was "Hi, I'm Blount." You may be the only person in history whose first words I remembered after an initial meeting. Actually, you may be the only person whose name I did not immediately forget 0.2 seconds after meeting. You should pick whatever you are more comfortable with. However, I will say that you should worry about having a "professional" name. I worked with a woman whose name is Twinkle. Yes, Twinkle. She was elected to a state-wide office and is now running for another. No one forgets her name, and it works to her advantage. The same could be true for you. -Wilson

  2. I think "Blount" suits you well, but then again I was told, in no uncertain terms, that if I ever called to "Margaret" I might lose a limb (granted you didn't give that warning). That being said, the only thing I would consider is if you do go through the oridination process in California are you prepared to be "Mother Blount?" - Ben
